College reunion

One of Rick's best friends from freshman year at BYU, Nathan, was in town this week with his family staying at an awesome resort an hour or so away. We drove up for the day and hungout with them and pretended we were on vacation too for a little while. The pools and beach were amazing. Our kids had a blast with their two boys also, it was a really fun day!

Carson seriously followed their little boy Matix around the whole day, and their oldest boy Krew was so cute with Brynnli carrying her around and watching her to make sure she didn't fall in the pool. Come back and visit again soon!

Carson's First slumber party

Carson is getting so big! The other night our friends the Wernlis came over to hangout and put their kids to bed here like they always do, except this time we let Carson and Jada sleep in the same room, they were hilarious! They pretended to be asleep, but spent a good 45 minutes in there giggling and being silly. We threatened a few times that they needed to go to sleep but ended up separating them so they could go to sleep, it was really cute though. That night Carson and Jada told us that when they growup they are going to marry eachother in tihe temple, they are so funny! Heres' a shot of our kids and the Wernlis two girls at our Memorial day BBQ with Rick's parents. Kim brought ice cream and cones for the kids, which was a big hit, especially with Brynnli who was thrilled (as she is whenever she sees any kind of food)

North Carolina

We just got back from an awesome trip to Rick's parents vacation house in North Carolina. It is so nice to kick back and relax away from home! Rick's sister and her hubby and daughter were there too which made it even better, we really didn't want to come home!
The three cousins, I guess this is Brynnlis new smileCarson's favorite part of the trip was putting out corn for the deer with Grandpa in addition to feeding the birds, watering the plants, and then watching the bats and waiting for the deer at night.

Posing on an old train caboose

Paddle boating in the pond down the hill from the house, Brynnli and I went too but I don't have the pics from that

Brynnli's first bowling trip, accompanied by a fall down a few stairs...

And my favorite part, going to Cade's cove in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where you drive around and see all kinds of wildlife. We happened upon this horse who was very excited about our car and Carson, so excited that he tried to jump in with us. We also saw six black bears, deer, and turkeys, the bears were my favorite, especially the mom and two babies that were climbing a tree right outside our car, awesome! (Grandpa has pics of that)

This was Brynnli's wildlife experience, she wasn't too thrilled about it though:)

Three generations of Tolbert men

Our kids LOVE watermelon, and Brynnli seriously out ate all of us the whole vacation, that girl can eat!

We had fun at this arcade style place playing kiddie games and skeeball with the kids, Carson liked this game best because of the garbage can.

We took a serious hike down to this waterfall and then back up, it equated to around fifty stories walking down stairs, and then fifty back up, Rick gets extra credit for carrying Carson most the way. We left Grandma and Grandpa with the two younger girls thank goodness!

The kids had a blast together

I wish we were still there, and so does Carson, he told me this afternoon that he needed to get back to the mountains to feed the deer. Poor guy. Vacation has to end sometime, I'll keep telling myself that.

Our almost perfect photo shoot

I had this great idea the other night to get the kids all dressed up in their easter outfits and to take them to the beach around sunset to get cute pictures. Like most other plans I have, it was a good idea, in theory. The beach was beautiful, the backdrop for the pictures was gorgeous, and our kids even, in my opinion were adorable.... until we brought out the camera. They were still cute, just not in a cute smiling together picture taking kind of way. Here are some of the outtakes. Brynnli looked like this in almost all the pictures, I can't be mad though because she inherited her goofy look from me.

On a positive note, we brought dinner and the kids had a BLAST playing at the park there, it is definately something we will do again, minus the cameras and cutesy clothes for now.
