Rick Won

Ever since we got married we have had a discussion about whether or not we would pierce our little girl's ears should we ever have one. Rick is pro piercing baby's ears, I am against. When I found out Brynnli was a girl I knew that we were going to have to debate it out. I had hoped that Rick would forget about it, but when my niece got her ears pierced at seven months we had the debate again. Long story short, I was overruled. Today, I lost the first argument ever with Rick. And poor Brynnli suffered the consequences.

Before

After

Brynnli was a trooper and cried only for a second when they shot the ear gun (sniff...) through her ears. She was great, much better than I expected. She does look super cute, but I think it will take me some time to get used to.
Carson had to come too to get his owee checked by the pediatrician. He was so happy not to have to get shots or his ears pierced that this was his smile, kinda scary I think.

Rhode Island

As luck would have it, the day after Carson bit through his lip we were due to fly to Rhode Island for his cousin Kaitlyn's first birthday. Carson was a trooper and barely mentioned his owee on the trip at all.

We spent a lot of time at the park by Trisha's house, it was sooo fun!Carson's favorite two things at this park were the curly slide, which he went down too many times to count, and the sand with the dumptruck. Grandma T., as well as Rick and myself had to pleasure of going down the slide with Carson. He loved it!

I got in a little time with my neice on her big one year birthday (this was taken at 10:00 p.m. she was still going strong, but so happy!)
Brynnli on the other hand couldn't handle it anymore and was snuggling with Aunt Trish and fell asleep....

At Kaitlyn's big party, Carson and Brynnli hungout on the stairs before the party and naturally we took pictures....

Thought this one was super cute....
We went to Bristol, which is apparently a very old city, famous for... something I can't remember.

And Carson had some fun watching Trisha's neighbors who live in the dumpster.....
Cute aren't they?

And of course, no trip to Rhode Island would be complete without having some seafood (which everyone knows I am crazy about....wink wink) So we left the three kiddos with Gma/Gpa Tolbert and headed out for a night on the town in Providence.
We ended up ordering a crab appetizer... I was very hungry and ready to eat this....

We also went into Newport and saw the Breakers, an old huge mansion owned by the Vanderbuilts back in the day, it was enormous and made me long for my tiny little place....
We stopped to checkout the beach where crazy boys were surfing in the 40 degree weather, how beautiful though!

The three cuties on the slide

This was Brynnli's trick on the plane, to look at Carson who was sometimes sitting behind us.

It was a great time! I can't wait to go back again nex time! Thanks to GRandma and Grandpa T. who helped so much wtih everything!

I will post more pics of the bday girl on her bday soon, once I get them from Rick's parents.

Emergency Room

Poor Carson. Carson was trying to climb up a slide we have in our living room today when he fell and knocked his mouth on a peice of furniture next to it. I thought he had just cut his mouth until I realized I could see all the way through his lip....which he had apparently bitten all the way through. He had two little teeth marks right below his bottom lip. So, I called the pediatrician and she told me to take him to the ER. Luckily Rick's parents were here when it happened, since Rick was of course at work, and they took us and helped with Brynnli, who had to come because she still won't take a bottle. What a day!

Here's the little sweetheart getting his blood pressure taken
Luckily, my friend Crystal is an ER nurse and sped up the process for us, thank goodness!
Us with the doctor, we seriously took soooo many pictures!

Carson was SUCH a trooper! He had to get three stitches and didn't move a muscle the whole time! They gave him a local anesthetic luckily, but he was soo brave! The doctor couldnt' believe how well he did! I was very thankful because I think I would've lost it if he had been really sad:(

It looks a little worse than it should because Carson ate a purple popsicle after his stitches...

Brynnli got her first popsicle taste for being such a trooper (lucky girl) She was thrilled!

It was quite the experience. I knew I was in for it when I had a boy..... I'm sure this will not be the last trip to the hospital. But it all turned out okay, Rick came home, Carson got to eat baby food for dinner (which he always wants to do), and some of his friends from church brought him some cookies! Lucky boy! And my favorite part, Rick suprised me with a new camera! I am so excited to use it!!!

I couldn't resist including this pic of Brynnli from yesterday, she is crazy! When we got home from the hospital today she decided her new trick was to crawl up the slide!! What do I do with two mobile kids? I give up!!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

We'll start off with a little Halloween flashback....Rick 1983 (3 years old) Carson 2008 (2 1/2 years old)

We had such a fun day yesterday for Halloween!! It is so fun now that our kids are getting old enough to enjoy these holidays!!! The only good/bad thing was that Rick had to stand in line for over two hours to vote!!! I was very proud of him though:)

We had fun carving our pumpkin that we picked out last week at the pumpkin patch/parking lot.....

Carson was more interested in coloring on it however.... so we gave him his mini pumpkin

Pretty nice huh?

Brynnli couldn't do much while we carved other than watch and try to eat the pumpkin leftovers:)
And then of course it was time to trick or treat!! Carson decided at the last minute that he wanted to be a pirate instead of superman, so I made an impromptu sword out of cardboard and recycled most of my costume from last week, and here he went!!

Brynnli was VERY tired and was probably wondering what on earth we were doing...again.

What a little angel!!!!

The group shot, at least they were both looking... sort of

Arghhhh!! I drew a tattoo on Carson's arm....

And then the rain came down...... which was actually really fun! I am told by Rick's parents that this is a regular occurance on Halloween in Florida, maybe next year I will include an umbrella with the costumes somehow....

We had so much fun seeing our neighbors... Carson was way more fun than last year, Carson kept saying "ok, next house!!"
He was so excited to be trick or treating and walked the whole time, it was very fun!
Brynnli lasted until almost the very end, but it was really late and she finally gave in....

Carson was checking out his "treasure" of candy, there was soo much!! I was very carefully "inspecting" all of it when we got home, and some of it was questionable, so naturally I had to eat it and make sure it was okay:)
A special thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Tolbert who came along in the rain, handed out candy at our house, and took pictures for us, we couldn't have done it without you!
Hope everyone else had as much fun as we did!!
